lfreeman
After working earlier this week, my Exchange Server backup has now stopped working. The mailboxes backup of the same server continues to work without error. These backups are two different script, but store the backup to same backup set. The storage group backup has the following log entry. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- + Normal backup using HM Exchange Server at 9/3/2004 8:32 AM (Execution unit 1) To Backup Set HM Exchange Set A... T-2: MapError: unknown Windows error -1,056,759,263 Can't access volume First Storage Group on XXXXXX , error -1102 (drive missing/unavailable) 9/3/2004 8:32:26 AM: Execution incomplete --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This same backup worked earlier --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- + Normal backup using XXXXXXX Exchange at 9/1/2004 8:50 AM (Execution unit 1) * Resolved container Exchange Server on XXXXXX to 1 volumes: First Storage Group on XXXXXX * Container Exchange Mailboxes was empty (had no volumes) To Backup Set HM Exchange Set A... - 9/1/2004 8:50:04 AM: Copying First Storage Group on XXXXXX 9/1/2004 8:50:04 AM: Connected to XXXXXX 9/1/2004 8:57:46 AM: Execution completed successfully Completed: 3 files, 2.5 GB Performance: 419.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:07:40 (00:01:46 idle/loading/preparing) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Exchange server is running Exchange Server 2003 with SP1, and the OS is Windows Server 2003. The backup server is Windows Server 2003 running Retrospect verion 6.5.360. The Exchange server is running the latest Retrospect client. I've deleted and recreated the script. When creating the script I can browse to the storage group with no problems. I've tried different "login as" identities with no effect.
natew
Hi You said you deleted the script. Have you tried removing and re-adding the client machine from the clients database in Retrospect? Thanks Nate
lfreeman
Yes I did remove it an re-add it with no change in results.
natew
Hi In your backup sources is the Exchange server container selected or is the storage group selected? Is NT backup able to successfully backup the exchange database? Thanks Nate
lfreeman
The Exchange server container doesn't show any storage groups to add to the backup. In addition my mailboxes that were working now won't show any mailboxes, just the container. I haven't tried an NT backup of Exchange.
lfreeman
I am getting the following error for the user account that I'm using for the backup that seems to happen at the same time I attempt to access the Exchange server. Source: Userenv Event Id: 1505 Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system. DETAIL - A required privilege is not held by the client. I don't know what privilege this could be because the backup account being used as a login and for the Retrospect client service is a domain administrator's account, and an Exchange administrator account. natew
Hi Did you modify the login of the Retrospect client service? If so make sure to go back to defaults. On the Retrospect server side you have two logins, one for the "run retrospect as" setting and another login for the exchange databases. Are these logins the same in your setup? Have you manually modified the Retrospect launcher service? If so set it back to defaults. Thanks nate
