jasper502
After doing a nightly back-up my Retrospect script reports a bunch of these errors: File fileserver_dell_cpu_nice_80.rrd : different modification date/time (set: 8/19/2004 1:20:19 AM, vol: 8/19/2004 1:35:19 AM) path: XServe 1/Library/WebServer/Documents/cacti/rra/fileserver_dell_cpu_nice_80.rrd Are these basicly errors showing files that have changed since the script started / scanned these files? None of these have been critical files so far so I am not too worried (yet). So were these files backed up or ignored. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks, Dan T
aleigh
>Are these basicly errors showing files that have changed since the script started / scanned these files? Normally - yes. You'll get this anytime an active file which has changed during the course of the backup (Annoyingly, the error always appears for Retrospects Log File - which naturally gets written to during the backup process) >So were these files backed up or ignored. GOOD QUESTION - hope someone else will pipe-in... xandra
natew
Hi If you look closely at the log you will see that each operation is divided into two phases, "copying" and "comparing". The errors you mentioned happened on compare. You didn't get any errors during the copy phase so you are safe in assuming the files made it into your backup. The compare error is telling you that the file in your backup does not exactly match the source file on the hard disk. Nate
