My G4 400 has had an AO7 drive running retrospect 6 for some time now, but the DVD drive has gone funny, causing kernel panics etc, so now it's replacement time. What do I buy? so I can access all my backups and archives on DVDR discs. Available drives include: LaCie internal DL 16x DVDR drive ( not listed as compatible and quoting a G4 500mhz as Min req ) Pioneer DVR-109 ( not listed as compatible ) fortunatly, I found a PC discount warehouse selling "obsolete" Pioneer DVR-108 drives, but really, do try to keep up Dantz. I remember I had the same problem buying the DR-107 at the time as well. Having to buy obsolete hardware to be compliant with backup software is really not on.
