splodge
Does anybody have any documentation on getting Retrospect Client 6.5 to work on a UNIX system other then solaris? Specifically HPUX would be helpful. When I install the client on HPUX, I get the following errors: /usr/local/dantz/client/rcl: not found /sbin/pidof: not found "Installation was successful, but the client could not be started" Any tips or suggestions would be helpful. I currently have the client up and running on Solaris 2.6 and Redhat Linux 9.0.

natew
Hi Did you manually install from tarball or use add it as a package? Thanks Nate
snorkel
Did you ever have any luck with this? All of our offices except for one is running Retrospect for backups, and I'd love to switch over the remaining office but they have an HPUX server that is keeping us tied to the old backup system. It would make my week to find out that Retrospect will work for HPUX.
mauricev
Well, if the hardware were x86, then I see no obvious reason why it wouldn't run. Is that the hardware you're running? Have you simply just tried it?
mauricev
I may be incorrect. I just assumed HP-UX could run Linux binaries. Apparently, that's only true for ones compiled for Itanium, http://h21007.www2.hp.com/portal/site/dspp/menuitem.863c3e4cbcdc3f3515b49c108973a801/?ciid=0a08b3f1eee02110b3f1eee02110275d6e10RCRD
