qckfrze
On our network, we've been using teh 6.0.11 client on all machines, since the 6.5 clients can't bind to the 169.2xx.xxx.xxx IP addresses on our subnet. However, if the ICF is enabled in WinXP, the clients can't be seen. When ICF is turned off, the clients can be seens just fine. Using the retfwset.exe utility, it allows retrospect client access in the network connections properties, but upon restart the client still can't be seen. We even added the port to TCP/IP filtering, but still no luck. What is going on???/
qckfrze
Follow up: We've had some luck by going into the "Setting" in the ICF tab and manually adding the 497 UDP port to the list of allowed ports. Any other suggestions?
natew
Hi You are on the right track. I think retsetfw doesn't get the job done sometimes. In those cases set the firewall to block port 497 again and then reboot. Then manually open port 497 for UDP and TCP. Thanks Nate
