jishaq
I have installed REtrospect Client 6.5.136 on a WIn2kSP3 laptop. When I attempt to add this client to my Retrospect Pro 6.5.350 server thru Configure : Clients, the machine shows up in list, but when after trying for some time to connect to the client, I always get an error -530 "Sorry, couldn't add backup client, error -530 (backup client not found)." On the laptop, I have uninstalled the 6.5.136 client, rebooted, reinstalled the 6.5.136 client, and rebooted. I noticed that after the uninstall + reboot, the "Retrospect Helper" service is left intact, so your uninstaller apparently doesn't get rid of everything. The problem persists. I have another laptop (also running the same OS and same version of client) that works fine ... I select it in the list, and it asks for the access password. What's up with that? -Jeff
ecrm
What does the client's Status Screen look like? (Look for the Retrospect Client Icon in Control Panels) What do you get when you go to 'Command Prompt' (Programs>Accessories) and type: telnet <computers_name> or <computers_ip>
jishaq
Thanks, I figured out why I was getting this problem. The static IP address of the client in question had been changed to a value outside of my subnet for some reason (typo; 198.162.x.x)! -Jeff
