tkamps
Anyone else having this problem where the backup stops after the first 200mb or so and reports error 100? So here is what I get from the log: ? Retrospect version 5.0.203 automatically launched at 4/12/2002 8:04 AM + Recycle backup using Davinci Friday week 1 at 4/12/2002 11:30 PM To backup set Davinci Friday 1… 4/12/2002 11:30:16 PM: Recycle backup: The backup set was reset - 4/12/2002 11:30:16 PM: Copying Davinci… Additional error information for device "Ecrix VXA DC" [2:10], Sense > f0 00 03 00 00 00 01 18 00 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 00 00 3e 00 00 00 08 1d 0c 19 (ECRIX |VXA-1 |2A6A) Trouble writing: “1-Davinci Friday 1” (209715200), error 100 (device rejected command). 4/13/2002 9:05:46 AM: Execution stopped by operator. Remaining: 15754 files, 4.4 GB Completed: 353 files, 199.6 MB Performance: 0.3 MB/minute Duration: 09:35:30 (00:01:06 idle/loading/preparing) --------------- So, here I sit with 2 servers upgraded to Retro 5 and I get 1 out of 10 backups to complete because either the server freezes (documented and duplicated elsewhere in the forums) when launching Retro 5 or it starts and gets the first 200mb and stops, or it loses connection to one of the OS X servers it is supposed to backup. I was getting at least 95% success with the 4.3 version and the OS X plugin. I'd say my $700 investment in R5 is not paying off. I have asked both Dantz and Exabyte about SCSI card issues with the VXA drives and Retro 5, but have not heard back. Very Frustrating...
ZakB
Which SCSI card are you using? Does it appear on our list of supported cards? http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=osx_scsi_adapter Is you SCSI card supported by Mac OS X? Does it require any firmware or driver updates to be compatible with Mac OS X? Have you tried another SCSI card?
