natew
Hi Are you using Retrospect client to do the restore? Are you able to do the restore locally? Was this file originally backed up from a windows machine? Thanks Nate

natew
Hi So to make this clear: You backed up files from an XP machine over to your server. Now you are trying to restore them back and you are getting this error. Right? Were the backups made via Retrospect client or Windows file sharing? How about the restore? The client is probably the best way to do both. Nate
kboyer
Yes, files backed up from an XP machine to a Retrospect server. Yes, I am trying to restore them back to the XP machine. Backups were made via Retrospect client. I am attempting the restore from the server. I am unaware of any other way to do restores. Thanks for any insights you can provide. natew
Hi Sorry to keep asking questions but we need to try and narrow down this some more: Can you restore anything to this client machine? i.e. a different file or from a different backup set? I assume the local restore did not work? If not what happened? Thanks Nate
