onorato
I am attempting to transfer a backup set that I created on a large external hard drive to DVD-RW disks for offsite storage. These DVD's claim that they can record 4.7GB of data. Each disk is only recording approximately 1.1GB of data during the Retrospect backup set transfer process. Any idea why this is? It still beats using CD-RW's, but for the price of DVD-RW's, it makes little sense to use them. I'm using Retrospect 5.1 on a PowerMac G4 (933Mhz) with a CD-DVD/RW drive. Thanks for any help. Dave O. natew
Hi One of the reasons is that you can't use compression in a transfer operation. There also may be a discrepancy in the size of the data between the two media formats. Can you restore the contents of one disk and see how large the data actually is on hard disk?
