SethM
I've got a kernel panic problem with the OS X client and my PowerBook G4. It's got a gig of RAM, the backup runs over 73,000 files, and is connected to the network via AirPort. The PowerBook G4 will (and does) kernel panic while being backed up. The problem asserts itself with iTunes, or anything that causes audio playback, failing to play over SoundSticks. When there is audio playback it's choppy and generally horrible before it cuts out, never to return. If I unplug the SoundSicks while the client is in use (i.e. backing up the computer) it will kernel panic instantly. I haven't tried this with other USB devices, but the kernel panic messages are about the kernel USB modules. Since these things aren't really related, I'm guessing a memory leak or something. Solution? Don't touch the computer while a backup is in progress. Hopefully I'm not the only one living with this annoyance and a bug fix will come along soon.
