dmcentire
Hi I have a technical question about the Linux Client. We are using linux clients on linux servers, but when I start the client several processes are started, and after view the log at /var/log/retroclient.log I see that the client spawns a new daemon process for EACH IP address of the box. I only use one of them, so I was wondering if there was a way to make the client only listen on ONE IP address instead of all the IPs on the server. Mayoff
The linux client online manual/docs provide info on this command: .IP "-ip n" Instead of binding to all available ip addresses, the single ip address n is bound to.
Guest psykoyiko
What you are actually seeing is that the client is spawning several threads, and it may just be coincidental that there are as many threads as there are IPs on your system. On my system that has one IP address, the client spawns about 5 or 6 threads, and may spawn more during a backup. This is entirely normal. If you would still like to force the client to bind to only one IP address, try this script: http://forums.dantz.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=30910&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 Hope this Helps.
