I've outgrown CDs as a means of offsite backup, so I'd like to get an external Firewire DVD burner. Can someone explain the pros and cons of DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM? I'd like a format that can take both Duplicate and Retrospect file sets, and that will still be around in three years. I would also appreciate recommendations for specific models.
