can't restore with exchange agent

I do back up exchange database with exchange agent and restore the database without any errors but when I open up the accounts to see if the exchange agent restores the deleted emails ( I am doing this for testing), the deleted emails are not restored.

I would appreciate it if somebody tells me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

I am using version 1.3 and it is small business server. I did not dismount and delete the entire stores. Do I need to?? I was using Veritas before and all I had to do was dismount the stores and check the option (this database can be restored by ...) under the properties of stores. So, is that all I have to do (dismount and delete the entire stores)?

Hi,

 

Normally you don't have to do anything - you can just hit restore and it works. Usually problems like this are caused by data stores that are slightly corrupt so the incremental restore does't go properly. Deleting the existing stores and doing a restore from scratch can get around that.
