awnews
I have several backups that were created with *no* password or encryption. I recently wanted to add password protection (but no encryption) to some sets and found I could not. The manual says I can only change Security options (password & encrytion) when a backup set is created. Why? At a *minium* it should be possible to add or remove password protection to a backup archive at any time. And I don't see why it shouldn't be possible to also turn on or off encryption at any time, with *new* files saved to the archive encrypted (or not) and/or password protected (or not). The entire archive will automatically become fully encrypted and password protected (or not) at the next recycle. At the moment my only option seems to be to create an entirely new backup set so that I can add password protection. This isn't reasonable or acceptable. lv2ski
That is correct. You can only add a password or encryption to a backupset when you first create it. This is a good suggestion! Thank you for the feed back. Melissa
trg
Along with that suggestion, please consider allowing users to change their passwords. It's good security practice to change passwords from time to time.
