pscs
There's some weird user interface behaviour in Retrospect 6.5 which makes it hard (if not impossible) to use from the keyboard, without a mouse - unless I'm doing something wrong For example Go to create a new backup set, choose 'File', 'Next>>' enter the name and path, 'Next>>' (all OK so far). Now, I want to enable backup security - try as I might, I just can't get my combo-box selection to stick, without using the mouse! Any ideas, comments, etc? AmyJ
I wasn't able to reproduce the problem. Can you explain what you mean by "I just can't get my combo-box selection to stick"? I was able to navigate through the Backup Set Wizard as follows from the Backup Sets Window: Alt-N Create New Alt-N Next (x4) to the Backup Set Security window <down arrow> to select Security type / Enter to accept Alt-N Next and finish. Getting properties on the new backup set showed the type of encryption I had selected during creation.
pscs
Ah, that's because that's not the standard Windows way of doing things... Where you've done: <down arrow> to select security type / Enter to accept normally you'd do <down arrow> to select security type / TAB to accept In this case TAB cancels your selection and goes to the next control, instead of the usual behaviour of accepting your selection before going to the next control. Usually pressing Enter will accept the dialog, so I'd expected it to go to the Next tab. Anyway, now I know how to do it, I'm moderately happy
