Holcomb
I have the release version of Retrospect (Desktop) for OSX on a B&W G3 running 10.1.3. Everything works as expected until I engage the energy saver system preference. My overnight scripts do not wake the system from sleep and only run when I access the computer in the morning. Since the scripts take most of an hour to run, I find it quite annoying not to be able to wake up the system automatically. Is there a work around that allows both the system to sleep when not called upon and yet wakes to run the backup scripts?
Driscoll
no answer but commiseration here. I see the same behavior running RW5 on OS X Server 10.1.3: OS X clients in sleep and Win2K clients in standby are invisible to Retrospect. in addition, taking my OS X Powerbook off the network turns the Client OFF, and I have to manually turn it back on when I hook it up again. there is a note in the knowledgebase that says Retrospect will not wake a sleeping giant, er, powerbook, but no explanation and no mention of desktops. -tim
