derrickfogle
Attempting to back up a Win2K client (With Retrospect Server on OSX); Backup script set to backup "All Files" in a specific defined subvolume. A file there is larger than 2GB, and Retrospect log shows this: 4/1/2002 11:21:30 PM: Copying bkup on WinCal… 4/1/2002 11:21:30 PM: Connected to WinCal Can't read file “Backup.bkf”, error -24240 (file greater than 2 GB), path: “bkup\Backup.bkf”. 4/1/2002 11:21:43 PM: 1 execution errors. Remaining: 1 files, 2.0 GB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:00:13 (00:00:06 idle/loading/preparing) Questions: 1) Should I be getting that? If so, why? 2) Any way around that? If so ,what?
IrenaS
There's a Knowledgebase entry that lists this limit: http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=knowledgebase_article&id=799 Currently files on a Windows client that are larger than 2 GB cannot be backed up from the Retrospect application running on a Mac. (The Windows application can do it without problems.)
