Robl
Has anyone else had this problem after upgrading to version 6.0 from 5. This is a multi-server installtion. All was working fine under version 5 but now after the upgrade when I get in in the morning and check the system I am getting a message saying that there are no free slots and the system can not continue! If I click OK on this error message the bakup then continues!! Unfortunately this does not give it enough time to complete the backup though. I am using Windows 2000 Server and a Compaq TL819DLX tape library. As I said all this worked fine under version 5 so whay no now?? Any suggestions? Thanks, Robin. AmyJ
What is the exact error message?
Robl
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The exact error message is: Can't continue operation, COMPAQ TL891DLX, ID 5:0 has no empty slots available. error -118 (no empty slots) I am using the exact same scripts I used in version 5. All I did was upgrade! The backup sets are the same also. Sometimes the backup will run fine, but this is NOT very often. I always ensure that the correct media is available by asking Retrospect to check this on exit each day for me. All the tapes are in the magazine before I leave each evening. Any ideas? Thanks, Robin.
Robl
Has there been any progress on this issue?? I am still having to manually continue the backup process every morning!! Robin
AmyJ
Which build of Retrospect 6.0 are you using? Check your log for details. Try a clean install of Retrospect - uninstall / reboot /reinstall. If you continue to experience the same issues try temporarily pulling your configuration files: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Retrospect If this works, you will need to set up Retrospect from scratch. Your existing backup sets will still be usable.
Robl
I am using build 6.0.206. Can I do a clean install of an upgrade? or will I need to install 5.5 first then 6.0? Robin.
