wildfox
I recently got your product because we didn't want to get a newer version of Arcserve for our box that went from nt4 to win 2000. Looks simple enough. But one problem. When you restore it creates backup set directories to restore too. I don't see an option to restore to the original directory the original file came from. Arcserve did this with out question. I would love to see this feature in Backup. That way my users won't bother me looking for a file that I had restored for them. They will know where it is. AmyJ
This is completely possible with Retrospect. When selecting the destination for restore - change the drop down box from 'Retrieve files and folders' to 'Replace corresponding files'
wildfox
Thanks! One more thing, do you have plans to have Backup be able to email some one of success or failure?
askirkland
I think you can do this with task scripts with Retrospect (depending on you flavor of Retrospect, I have Server version 6)... look in the help "index" section of your retrospect Search: External Scripts, Email Notifier I was unable to get this to work because of my current mail server setup, but it is supposed to work.
