dlhconsulting Posted January 30, 2003 Report Share Posted January 30, 2003 Here's a riddle: Why is it that my Win2k machine running RMS 6.0.206 with a VXA-1 1x10 autoloader cannot seem to handle shuffling tapes when a script calls for a different tape? Scenario: daily backups append to one tape, and every tuesday a recycle backup is done to one of four tapes. the daily backup tape is ejected, and the recycle backup tape is loaded just fine. however, when it comes time to swap back to the daily backup tape, retro hangs "looking for media". the recycle backup tape is still in the drive, and I have to end-task RMS. I then have to move the tapes with the autoloader in order to get the correct tape loaded and restart RMS in order for anything to work again. any insight anyone has on this will be appreciated.
