JimmyB
I'm just starting to use RS 6.0. I've set up a script to run a full system recycle backup each week. RS seems to make the backup fine, but locks up during the compare phase every time. It locks up on random files. If I hit stop or pause, RS locks up. I have to terminate RS, then I get a message that the backup was stopped by the user for a system crash or power failure. Again, the backup looks fine, it's just the compare phase that dies. Any suggestions? Thanks, JimmyB
AmyJ
How about details on your configuration? OS? Backup device - While in Retrospect, go to Configure > Devices > Environment and list Vendor, Product and Version for your drive. Any other errors during copy noted in the log? JimmyB
Oops. Sorry, I think I was really tired when I posted, and left out a few key details. The O/S is Windows XP Professional, with SP-1. The backup device is a dedicated backup IDE disk drive. The disk is a 60 Gb Maxtor Y060L0. JimmyB
I uninstalled RS, deleted all of my backup files, then reinstalled. The problem seems to have cleared up, and I've run 3 successful backups without lockup. Something in the program files or the backup files must have gotten corrupted.
