frodo666
Neither Preview Ver 5.0 or non beta version will successfully complete a Duplicate to an external Firewire Drive. The log shows the following error message each time. - 3/28/2002 2:24:12 PM: Copying Frodo… Can't write file “èdóvÇ»íçà”éñçÄ.rtf”, error -35 (volume doesn't exist), path: “Frodo/Applications/iDVD 2/ì?ñ{åÍ - èdóvÇ»èÓïÒ/èdóvÇ»íçà”éñçÄ.rtf”. Trouble writing files, error -35 (volume doesn't exist). 3/28/2002 2:25:23 PM: Execution incomplete. Remaining: 53977 files, 6.3 GB Completed: 4360 files, 881.3 MB Performance: 755.3 MB/minute Duration: 00:01:11 (00:00:01 idle/loading/preparing) Backups seem to work just fine. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Mayoff
This item was added to the Knowledgebase earlier today: Retrospect 5.0 for Macintosh cannot rename OS X client volumes, instead reporting error -35, volumes does not exist. This will be fixed in a future version of Retrospect.
IrenaS
How is the external drive formatted? Does this happen all the time? If you try to pick up where you left off in the Duplicate, does the error repeat? Have you fully uninstalled the Preview using the uninstaller? Any other data on the FireWire drive? frodo666
Sorry for being so dense and I can't find the appropriate posting in knowledgebase. Are you saying that ver 5 will not do a "duplicate" at this time? or are my problems related to something specfic in my situation?
frodo666
Thanks for the response. The problem will re occur if I attempt a restart; it appears at approximately the same place (and file) if I start over. The problem occurs on a clean drive and on a drive with other info.
