janish
I currently have a G4 server running system 9. It backs up every night (w/Retrospect) to a SCSI APS tape drive using DDS3/125 tapes. My backup sets are seven (7) tapes minimum -- that's how much data I have to start a set. Once the set is started, I insert a new tape every few weeks. I plan to move to System X in the near future, buy a new Mac server and invest in a new backup device. The tape system is starting to get too time-consuming with swapping out seven tapes to start a new backup set. I am hoping for advice on which storage device to purchase from the experts out there who have a backup system that is fast, reliable, and has greater storage capacity than the tapes I am using. Please send me your comments and advice. I apologize if this question gets asked a lot -- my search of the Mac board didn't turn up any info.
