bjames
Is there any way to run "external" pre- and post- scripts, from a Retrospect backup script? That is, I'd like to execute (say) a .bat file as the first step, before the backup script starts; and another .bat file, as the file step, after the backup script completes. In particular, I want to run a script that issues the wake-on-lan magic packet to turn on the client-to-be-backed-up, then shut the client system back down after the backup is complete. I can accomplish the "pre" script in a round-about way by scheduling it (with Windows task scheduler) to run a few minutes before the scheduled Retrospect backup. Coordinating the "post" shutdown is more challenging. And three separately scheduled steps make changing the schedule a pain-in-the-... A reply to a post last August mentioned that better support for wake-on-lan might be incorporated in Retrospect. That would be useful, but in any case, being able to run an arbitrary pre- and post- external script would be the most flexible extension mechanism. Thanks.
