netman
I have previously completed many "immediate backups" using Retrospect MultiServer version 6 on a Windows 2000 Server with a Quantum DLT4000. I have a small network including Windows XP Pro and Mac clients. Now I've setup a Proactive Client Backup Script and when I run the script, my machine locksup only partially into the process. In fact, it locks up while the first step in the script -- backing up the server boot volume -- is in the "comparing" step. Any ideas why this is happening? If I'm reading your post correctly, this same backup worked in the regular script - and the hangs have only begun since using the Proactive script? Can you consistently reproduce this? What happens if you put the local machine in a regular script - do you see the same hangs? What about an immediate backup of this machine?
