suteck
A "user" installed the client for 5.0 on her OS X machine. She put in a password and forgot it. I uninstalled the client and reinstalled. It held on to the incorrect password. Question: How do i get rid of the Retorspect Client password in OS X? thanx

IrenaS
Uninstall the client using the installer. Restart the computer and check that there is no client remaining, and that the client process, pitond, is not running. You can check this by launching Process Viewer at Applications/Utilities. Ensure that the process called pitond is not listed. If it isn't running, reinstall the client using the installer. Does it prompt for a password? CallMeDave
Question: How do i get rid of the Retorspect Client password in OS X? The password for the OS X Client is in the file: /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/retroclient.state There have been many posts on this board related to using Terminal to remove files owned by root. But in brief, type: sudo rm /var/root/Library/Preferences/retroclient.state and return, and enter your password at the prompt. The terminal will give you no confirmation that you did it right, and no warning if you do it wrong. enjoy! Dave
