Keven Posted November 25, 2002 Report Share Posted November 25, 2002 Hello! Just wondering if anyone has had these problems before. I own a Travan T4000S (Travan-4) 4/8gb HP Drive. I am using Dantz Retrospect 5.0. When I attempt to backup anything, the backup starts, does a few files, and then the drive does something, and Retrospect halts saying my Catalogue is Out Of Sync and the backup stops. I have tried two seperate tapes, all perfectly new from the store. Retrospect erases the disks just fine, and as I said, actually writes a few files before it halts, so I'd think it isn't the drive (or is it?). I don't know how to test the drive otherwise. It is in a external SCSI case hooked into my Macintosh. The drive was incredably dusty when I first got it, but I have since been able to personally clean the drive from head to toe by hand (making incredably sure I didn't kill the head). The previous owner also said it worked just fine.. It almost looks like the drive is too slow for the computer.. Any ideas? How can I get this drive to work with my Mac?
