tosontsengel
Just realized I posted this originally to the wrong forum the server/sbs, when I have Retrospect Professional, so here is my question again. I'm running 7.7.341 on Windows XP Pro, with an HP ultrium 960 LTO drive. I have 10 computers backing up to a RAID drive. I then am doing a script to transfer snapshots from those 10 to a tape. So the script has 10 sources and the tape drive as the destination. I will put in a tape, erase it, and run the script, it will backup and get to the 3rd source and a dialog comes up "please insert the backup set member: " and the member it is requesting is the tape that is currently in the drive. I have tried this several times and keep getting the same tape request. I then edited the script and removed the 3rd source, and reran the script with an erased tape, and it stopped again on the new 3rd source asking for the tape that is already in there. I'm not sure what to try? = Jason
AndrewA
This is a known bug that only happens with transfers, it happens when Retrospect goes to span to another tape and has to verify the tape it was writing to. What you can do until this gets fixed is turn off verification and run a verification script later.
blm14
Just FYI - it doesn't just happen with verification. If you are trying to add data to an existing tape set you can get this problem as well...
BMassie
Has there been a fix to this? I am getting this error weekly
tosontsengel
I don't know of any fix yet, other than what was suggested above, about doing the verify scripts separately from the backup scripts. That seemed to work for me.
blm14
The fix is to uninstall retrospect 341 patch, re-download the software with only the 325 patch, and effectively revert to 7.7 325. I've done that and my tape behavior is back to normal
jjo
Hi bim, thanks for this workaround. Do I have to remove 7.7.341 before and install 7.7.325 then or just install 325 over my 341? BR JJo
blm14
you have to uninstall 7.7.341 and then install 7.7.325 from scratch. Make a backup of your settings folder in case it gets wiped out.
