nykel
For backing up open files we need the option to stop and restart the related services (Mail-Server, CalDAV-Server, Database-Server). This is normally done by a shellscript and no problem with open source or 30$ backup software. By the time we test Restrospect Multiserver 8.2.0 (399 ) for Mac. Without this option Retrospect 8 would be totally useless for OS X Servers and others.
rhwalker
Yep. I've been making that same point for almost two years, now, ever since it was announced. Russ
randy
Is there no replacement for the Retrospect Event Handler? I'm looking at upgrading from Retrospect 6 to Retrospect 8, and I rely on the Retrospect Event Handler AppleScript to be able to prepare Perforce and other services for backup.
