Kowalski
Hello everyone, I have Retrospect MultiServer v7.6.2.101 installed on a Windows Server 2003 machine here at work. Since last week the programs keep crashing with a message saying Assertion failure at "elem.cpp-986". No significant changes have been made prior to this error. Have read here that this could be possibly a Config75.dat file error. But what can I do to fix it? If I replace the Config75.dat file I'll loose all scripts, serial number, schedules, etc. Any suggestion? Thanks
Ramon88
Take a look at page 274 of the Retrospect User Guide. Retrospect saves a backup copy of the config file. But it's a good idea to backup these config files themselves.
Kowalski
Hi Ramon, Thanks for your tip. But I have a little problem: the .bak file seems to be corrupted also At least now I know that I should keep a regular backup of it, but seems that I'll have to start from scratch again. Ramon88
If your backup config file is corrupted as well and you have no copy of a working one laying around, you indeed have no other choice but to start from scratch again. Good luck with that!
