dcb
There are numerous posts about a recurring "Catalog out of sync" error occuring under Windows XP, and Retrospect Desktop 5.6.127. The stated solution is to upgrade to 5.6.132. After never having the problem on 5.6.132, my upgrade to the trial version of 6.0.206 causes this error every time without fail. The first "volume" backs up and the second aborts due to the catalog error. Have tried different tapes to confirm the problem. Also does not matter if backing up the server or a client. It did work once and allowed me to back up 4 volumes when I had turned verification off for speed purposes. I normally don't do this but after a week of rebuilding systems and no backups (include 3 days fighting Retrospect), I had to get something backed up quickly. niceguy48799
I encountered the same error with Retrospect 6.0 when I tried to backup/append a second volume onto the same tape and backup set. The error message told me to do a catalog sync repair under Tools but the specified option or operation was not listed in the list box.
dcb
It's there (can't remember exactly where now that I've uninstalled it). A search in the help files for catalog out of sync will send you to the right place. But...I did that, several times on two tapes and it didn't clear the problem.
