foobar
I'm getting a slew (about 100) of these errors when I'm backing up my networked Macs. Most of the errors are for files in the system folder, e.g. \System Folder\Finder: can't read, error -1020 (sharing violation) Is this as it should be, or is there something I can do to get these on my backup as well. AmyJ
Which version of the client software are you using?
foobar
I'm not using the client software, should I be? I am a long time user of retrospect on the macintosh, and I'm hoping to migrate it to my windows machine as it is newer and faster. I recently downloaded the software (about a week ago). The client file says it is version 6.0.110.
AmyJ
Yes - you need to use the client software to properly backup Macintosh systems across the network. Professional comes bundled with two client licenses (and you can purchase more should you need them). Install the client software on the Macintosh, and log it in via Configure > Clients. This should resolve the sharing violation on the System files.
