fireborne
I'm running Express for Windows 7.6 and although my PC sees and can use the Seagate stt20000a drive, retrospect only lists it in "Storage Devices" under "Environment" section not the "Status" section. And it's not listed under "Create new backup set" under "Backup media". The tape drive is an internal IDE. My other backup software see and runs it fine. any help would be very much appreciated. Thx, J
rhwalker
You are seeing the expected behavior. See the Retrospect product matrix: Retrospect product comparison matrix Retrospect Express does not support tape drives. You need to get a higher version than Express. fireborne
Russ, Thanks for the help. It's a bit confusing because if you look at the supported hardware list for Express the drive is listed. Thanks again, J
rhwalker
Wow, I'd never noticed that before. I admit that it is confusing. I suspect that the Supported Devices database is the same regardless of which product is selected. Russ
Mayoff
I remember a special edition of express supporting an old USB tape drive. Don't think the IDE version is supported
