tax
Hi. Data compression( in software ) is not working for me. I am using retrospect professional in a win7 64 bits machine. I don´t know if I am doing something wrong, but the logs show 0% compression. Thank you tax
Mayoff
It may be working but the data itself can't be compressed.

See if this KB article helps explain the issues: Data Compression in Retrospect Perhaps are your backups or the files being backed up encrypted? That would make the data uncompressible because the point of encryption is to make the data appear to be white noise (random). Any non-randomness (redundancy, which is what is needed for compression) would provide a hole for breaking the encryption. Russ
