Hofstede
Is there any progress in solving the issue where Retrospect 7.7 does not accept the license code for the client packs. If it is going to take more than 2 days to fix this I must revert back to version 7.6 so I can backup my client PC's again. Mayoff
We will be releasing a driver update to fix this. I was hoping it would come out today but we found a few other bugs in the user interface that have to get fixed. It might be a couple more days, I don't know for sure. ajwh
I'm a bit confused... The update matrix says "Retrospect 7.6 for Windows Add-ons will work with Retrospect 7.7 for Windows versions". I have Pro 7.6 with an OEM 5-user licence pack. 7.7 comes with a 2-user licence. Do I need to buy upgrade clients or not?
Mayoff
No need to buy add on packs. A bug was causing problems with the client license and we will have it fixed very soon.
Hofstede
The update fixed the issue for me. After the update I still got the message that I did not have enough client licenses. But after deleting the config77.dat file and starting Retrospect the old config75.dat file was upgraded again to config77.dat and the licenses were correct. rbarthel1z1
I deleted the config77.dat but my 7.6 licenses were not updated when the config77.dat file was rebuilt. My license file shows 4 clients, 3 used, 1 available but only 3 licenses. Not the 4 I have purchased.
rbarthel1z1
When I deleted the config77.dat AND config77.bak, the client licenses were loaded correctly. Thanks
ajwh
Hasn't worked for me... Using version of Retro Pro which came with my Netgear ReadyNAS V+, which included 5 client licences. Purchased and installed 7.7 upgrade - and I only have 2 client licences. I've tried deleting the config77 files, with no effect..
ajwh
Any news on this? I still only have 2 licenses instead of five..... Andrew
ajwh
I presume, since no-one has replied, that I am now stuck with two licences instead of five.... Andrew
Mayoff
Have you contacted customer service. All license issues have been resolved with the driver update.
ajwh
I haven't contacted customer service yet.... I've installed the driver update, and it hasn't fixed the issue. The problem isn't one of recognising a licence pack add-on (which I think is the issue which it addresses), it's that my OEM 7.5/7.6 install had 5 licences included, not the 2 of a non-OEM purchase. Mayoff
Then you need to contact customer service to check into that issue.
ajwh
Robin, Just so you know, I tried to contact customer support this morning - the web-site pointed me to emcinsigniasupport_eu@emc.com as the appropriate address - I'm in the UK. I registered at the site, including the serial number of my Retro 7.7 I then logged a support message with iomega_eu_en@mailca.custhelp.com where I had to enter all my details again. They have just come back to me saying that "- For all licensing issues, please contact Retrospect_customerservice@emc.com" So I've forwarded the message to them... ajwh
OK, I've had a reply from Stuart at EMC. THE UPGRADE ONLY INCLUDES TWO LICENCES, EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN OEM PACKAGE WITH FIVE LICENCES. If you need more licences, you have to buy them. Andrew
