Mayoff 124 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 Have you tried running a scan disk on the C: drive? Retrospect might be having trouble reading data from the disk.
rhwalker 2 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 There could also be memory problems, etc. Diagnostics might be in order.
CrotonMarkW 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2009 OK so I reformatted my hard drive and used Express HD as a disaster recovery tool. It worked perfectly. My first subsequent backup worked perfectly. Since then I keep getting yellow dots telling me there are problems during the backup. The latest problems are these: 12/6/2009 2:32:04 PM: Copying Local Disk (C:) File "C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\195.62\WinXP\English\PhysX_9.09.0814_SystemSoftware.exe": can't read, error -1127 (data error detected in file using cyclic redundancy check) 12/6/2009 2:52:47 PM: Snapshot stored, 139.2 MB 12/6/2009 2:53:01 PM: Comparing Local Disk (C:) An error occurred during the verification step. The MD5 digest for the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\cache.db" did not match, error -1129 (MD5 digest mismatch) 12/6/2009 2:56:28 PM: Execution completed successfully Completed: 506 files, 3.0 GB Performance: 551.6 MB/minute (403.2 copy, 873.0 compare) Duration: 00:24:24 (00:13:31 idle/loading/preparing) Can anyone diagnose why I get errors with certain files? CrotonMarkW 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2009 My problem keeps cascading. I had to remove the program entirely due to this error message consistently coming up on the screen: Assertion Failure at tstring-cpp-2214. What can I do now? I no longer can run the program. Thanks - Mark
