Restore Matching Files

Recommended Posts

Multi Server 7.6.123

Mac Client 6.2.234

I'm trying to do a complete restore of an user's account from the backup server. I have accessed the backup sets from various backups, and am only being able to restore 3440ea matching records on a possible 103,000ea. The restored profile is missing most of the documents underneath folders. Any ideas on how to access more than the 3440 matching records?

Thx,

Chris

Are there any errors in the logs?

Exactly what process (and options) are you using for the restore?

Also, when you say that you are doing "a complete restore of a user's account", and from the rest of your post, it appears that you are restoring through the Mac client onto the Mac. Is that correct? What version of Mac OS is on the client?

  • 2 weeks later...

Russ,

No errors in the log, Mac OS X 10.5.8.

Process:

Select Restore from the menu

Click next on Restore Wizard popup

Select Backup Set, click next

Select Snapshot, click next

Popup appears with Matching files

Select restore destination, click next

Select restore files and folders, mark all files for restore, click OK, click next to confirm

Highlight never replace matching files.

Thx,

Chris

Ok. Not sure about your remark that you chose "Highlight never replace matching files."

Do I misunderstand what you did?

What happens if you drill down in the selected files just before confirming to begin the restore? Does it show all of the files that you believe should be restored but that aren't?
