julienvs
Hi, My scripts hang most of the time with our T40 - LTO-3 HH Fiber Channel. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Julien
rhwalker
A bit more specifics are needed. Version of Retrospect (x.x.x) If you are running a version of Retrospect 6.x, also the version of the RDU (x.x.x.x) Hardware specifics (machine, FC interconnect, autoloader, tape drive) OS specifics (Mac OS 10.x.x) Russ
julienvs
Hi Russ, I'm running retrospect 8.1 (build 526) on Mac OS X Server 10.5.8. My tapeloader is a T40 from tandberg data. Connected directly to the XServe with fiber channel. The Drive is a LTO-3 HH, I think it's manufactured by IBM, I don't have acces right now but I could look it up if it's important. Is that enough, or should I be more specific? Thanks :-) Julien
rhwalker
It's enough to tell you two things: (1) Help for this problem won't be found in this forum - this is the Retrospect 6.1 forum, and you seem to be running Retrospect 8.1. I suggest that you repost in the Retrospect 8 forum here: Retrospect 8 for Macintosh Yes, the naming of the forums is confusing. Many have requested that it be fixed. Sigh. (2) A new version of Retrospect 8.1 was released today with many fixes. I suggest you update. Details here: Retrospect 8.1.622 released My suggestion would be for you to update both the Retrospect engine and the Retrospect console, test, and if the problem still exists, repost in the Retrospect 8 forum with full details. julienvs
Thanks for the tip. This is what I found in the release notes: 23175: Open File Backup fails to timout It seems this might have been the problem. I'm updating and I'll move the topic if not resolved. Thank you very much! Julien
