robynrpcarchitects.com.au
I have: retrospect single server 7.6.123 (patch 7.6.2.101) installed on: Windows Storage Server 2003 Standard x64. No domains, a simple workgroup. Has a LTO3 backup device internally. Everything works as expected when logged in administrator. Being a remote site I have a user account that needs to have access to the server to change tapes, check history/logs, erase and occasionally restore data. This user account is a member of the BACKUP OPERATORS group. It is NOT an administrators member. When this user logs in, it has access to the tape drive through computer management. THE PROBLEM IS: when you start up retrospect you cannot see any tape drives (or anything else) in storage devices. Hence, backup/restore options are non existent. If I make the user a member of administrators, all is OK. I can't leave the user a member of administrators due to confidential data on the server. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks.
