Can't compress catalog file for backup set [set name], error -808 (key/refnum search failed) This error is not in the docs, and not found in an online search here. Any clues for me? Thanks! Well, it is in the "Retrospect Error Codes Table" document, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get a valid link to this document. To see that table, go to the Retrospect Knowledge Base, click the "Error Codes" tab in the menu bar across the top of the Knowledge Base page. Yep, sounds like you have a corrupted catalog. Let's hope that the groom didn't corrupt your backup set. The catalog is a database index into the backup set (plus some other stuff), hence the "key/refnum" terminology.
