specify port number for console communication?

Recommended Posts

Is there any syntax/technique to specify the port number to the console when setting up a server?

The default is port 22024 from what I see here:

http://kb.dantz.com/display/2n/articleDirect/index.asp?aid=9705&r=1.008242E-02

Common syntax is to allow an alternate port configuration with:

XX.YY.ZZ.QQ:PPPP

For instance, 192.168.0.11:44000 - for IP 192.168.0.11 and port 44000.

I have tried this in the dialog for adding a server in the console and my input seems to be ignored completely. (the IP is not added, either)

This is important when needing to set up SSH tunnels to multiple machines through a gateway. Another compelling reason to provide this ability is to be able to access more than one machine behind NAT. SSH tunnels work well for this, too. This is much harder to deal with if you are forced to use the same port for all machines.

Thanks,
