Janset
Hi all. I need some clarification please from someone in the know. My copy is entitled/labelled as EMC Retrospect Express and it is version 7.5. Yet when I read the online material trying to get the hang of this program I continually come across the description as Retrospect Express HD. What if anything is the difference between Express and Express HD? :confused2: Regards Edited July 20, 2009 by Guest
Mayoff
Express HD is a very basic product with limited flexibility. Express is much more complex and allows more control by the user.
Janset
Thanks Mayoff. Now all I have to do is to wade through all the literature to learn the basics. Just one more question if you can help. If I understand the literature correctly, I can make a full 'compressed' backup to a remote HD much the same as with Ghost. Does this program also have a function similar to Windows 'Restore'? I ask this because I would be using this program on my Windows 2K C:\ drive because (as you may know) there are no such functions in Windows 2K. Mayoff
Ghost is an image based archive tool. Retrospect does backup file by file. It is very different. I don't know anything about "Windows restore", so I can't answer the question.
