missminki
I've been using Retrospect for a while now and recently changed the backup media to a USB Flash Drive. Everything seemed to be fine, the drive was recognised, I formatted it, and the first backup completed successfully. However, subsequent backups don't happen. The software looks for the device but doesn't find it, and the backup fails after 'waiting for media'. We have tried it in different slots, checked the drive letter, checked that it 'mounts' correctly in Windows, but nothing. It seems to work when I choose to do an immediate backup, but not using an automated script. Any ideas?
safreeds
Do you have just one flash drive or are you using several different flash drives with the same name and drive letter?
missminki
No it's the same one, every time. What I have noticed though by accident, if you restart the PC with the USB in, it works fine.
safreeds
What operating system is this, what version of Retrospect and is this drive being disconnected to take off site?
missminki
it is Windows XP Retrospect 7.5 and yes the flash drive is put in in the morning and taken out after the backup has supposedly completed.
