dangermouse
This is the result of the first attempt at a backup to this set with the 733 version. 608 had no complaints. What should I do? Rebuild, Repair? Get depressed? Some people seem to be scrapping everything from the older versions of Retrospect and starting afresh with the new ones. Is this recommended? I presume, and hope, not! Mayoff
That is odd. I would perform a catalog rebuild from the media sets screen. That should resolve the problem.
dangermouse
I don't see how to do this. I go to Media Sets, select the set concerned (not sure if I need to do that), click on Rebuild. It asks what sort of set I'm wanting to do, I pick the Disk option (this is a USB drive connected to a Time Capsule). I then get the 'Rebuild a Disk Media Set' dialog with no disks listed. I click Add Member, this gives me a list of disks but not the one I'm after. I think it's a list of all directly connected drives. I tried clicking 'Add Share' but when I enter the details of the drive I'm told it's already logged in.
dangermouse
And now two backups have gone and used the Media Set in question without a hitch. I never managed to repair or rebuild, it just changed its mind about the problem. So that's the end of that, I guess, although I do worry about such mysteriousnesness. Mayoff
How big is the volume you are trying to use for the disk media set?
dangermouse
It's a 1TB drive, with other stuff stored on it also. Retrospect says capacity is 530GB, 230GB free, 300GB used
