markalpert
Retrospect running on separate Windows 2003 server. Exchange 2003 running on Windows 2003 Enterprise server. Created RBU user on domain with account membership and active mailbox as required. Public folders on Exchange server as required. Retrospect Exchange license applies okay to Exchange however individual mailboxes don't appear. When I try to connect to mailbox container directly it asks for authentication and fails with error 523. Read through other solutions on forum and can't find answer. Mayoff
I am still waiting for a response to this issue. Have you tried calling technical support so they can work with you directly on the problem?
markalpert
Spoke with technical support and we installed Retrospect directly on the Exchange server. This allowed us to determine whether the problem was Domain/Rights related between the Backup server and the Exchange server, or software/mailbox configuration related. With Retrospect installed on the Exchange server all mailboxes showed up okay and everything worked as designed. We then focused on rights and permissions and figured out the answer. On the Exchange server, Retrospect Services was running as the Local User. We changed the user to RBU and the problem was solved. All individual mailboxes showed up on the Backup server. On Exchange Server - Start/Administrative Tools/Services Retrospect Client Log On Change from Local System Account to This Account Specify RBU user and password
