LewBrown
I am trying to make a disaster recovery disc and have followed the instructions in the knowledge base. This is with WindowsXP Professional SP2. At some point in the process a message is displayed that the data is too large for a CD....over 650 MB. Suggestions anyone. Thanks. Mayoff
Are you using a non-OEM Microsoft XP SP2 CD for the i386 folder? The OEM XP CD's contain extra drivers that will result in large disk images.
LewBrown
Yes this is the OEM XP...sooooo how do I work around this to create the recovery disc? Thsnks. LJB
Mayoff
You can track down an official MS XP SP2 CD. Otherwise, just do a Live Restore if the computer crashes. The DR CD isn't needed for full system recovery.
LewBrown
I presume "live restore" implies being able to access the Retrospect folder and clicking on restore? However what if the computer will not start at all so everything is inaccessible? My concept of the disaster recovery disc was to be available for those "crisis" situations.
