JohnWSaundersIII
I've seen two posts from over six months ago talking about the bug with the Activity Monitor (http://forums.dantz.com/showtopic.php?tid/27840/ and http://forums.dantz.com/showtopic.php?tid/27807/). This bug makes the product fairly useless to me, since I can't even see if my backup is running, asking for media, etc. It's been six months. May we at least expect a workaround soon? Maybe I have to start Retrospect before the backup starts? Or can you please go back to the earlier functionality? I've used Retrospect since version 4 - this behavior makes me want to use Windows Backup.
MrMikeH
:confused2: I have this same problem and have had for a long time and it is extremely annoying. I agree that we need a fix for this and sooner, rather than later. If you can't get into the application to check status etc., it's pretty useless. JohnWSaundersIII
Until you fix this, I can't really tell what Retrospect is doing. For instance, I just now noticed that the computer got quiet. I had to look into the event log to see: Script Regular Backup (Local Disk (C:)): waiting for media Now, if you insist that I have to use the Event Viewer as the Retrospect UI, then could you kindly add a little more detail? You could, for instance, tell me which media you're waiting for!
poorman
There's a VERY long thread on this at http://forums.dantz.com/showtopic.php?tid/27791/all/1/, dating back to last summer. Several people have invested their time to provide additional information, but for several months there's been no response from EMC. This is very disapointing. Maybe all the engineers are heads-down on the Mac 8.0 version, and don't have time to resolve isues for Windows users?
MartinSheffield
It's pretty annoying, noticed this on a new install we've done. It would be nice to see where/what status Retrospect is but instead you get a box with no info. Not good.
