peterocallaghan
Hi we have retrospect v7.6.123 installed which was all working fine until recently when we did the latest hotfix. We no longer get any notification emails which was working perfectly before the hotfix. If I check the preferences and try to send a test email I get the error Email Notification Failed: error -541 (backup client not installed or running) We dont use a backup client. The software is installed on our fileserver and backs up that server to a NAS. I would appreciate any help or ideas that people may have Edited January 29, 2009 by Guest
peterocallaghan
Woops sorry found the answer in another post. Putting the port number after the ip address of the mailserver solved the problem
tomnibus
we noticed this as well, We had an IP address instead of the server name and we weren't getting any e-mail notifications either. This happened to coincide with us changing mail servers as well (moved the IP from old to new mail server) so we thought it had something to do with that. Interestingly enough, if you put the DNS name of the mail server in, it sends just fine without the need for the port # after the address. What was the other post you found the solution in?
