Linux installer doesn't set a password

Recommended Posts

From a previous thread, the installer should probably end with something like:

Enter first access password:

Retype the first access password:

Starting client as daemon...

Retrospect Client started successfully!

Upgrade completed successfully

...but my installer just declares that the client daemon has started (and I confirmed that the process is running) and that the installation was successful. I started the java GUI, but there isn't anything there related to passwords. Looking at the install script, there is no mention of passwords, either! How does one set a password for the Linux client? I've installed from the .tar file (latest, 7.6.100, but have also tried 7.5), and everything seems to be in order otherwise.
