rbeilby
I have been using Retrospect for about a year on our network now, but, cannot determine if it backs up the XP "System Restore" or "System Volume Information" directories. From what I can tell only the lower directories (System Voulme Information and _Restore{xxxxxxx...}) are backed up, but, not the ones starting with RP that contain the system copied files. Does anyone know the answer to this? I am using Retrospect 7.6 on a XP m/c backing up to a DAT drive. Regards, Richard Beilby.
Mayoff
Retrospect does backup system volume information. If you restore this info, I don't believe Windows will understand how to use the restored system volume information. That is a Windows limitation. rbeilby
Robin, Thank you for your reply. When I look at the list of directories and files on the C: drive to be backed up I do not see the RPnnn directories at all. I have restored the System Volume Information on a machine machine before without any problem. Regards, Richard Beilby.
